How Care Works Here
Most children start in general paediatrics or the emergency department. A scan, a specialist, an operation or intensive care all happen in the same hospital.
- First contact. Book online, call, or come through emergency. You do not need a referral letter; bring one if you have it.
- Assessment. A paediatrician examines your child and explains the findings in plain words.
- Tests on site. The 24-hour laboratory and imaging are in the building.
- The right specialist. When your child needs one, the paediatrician refers within the hospital.
- A plan to take home, in plain words, and a report back to your own doctor if they referred you.
Start with General Paediatrics, or Call and the Team Will Direct You.
If your child is seriously unwell, do not book and do not wait for a message reply. Come to Limi Children's Hospital now, day or night, or go to the nearest emergency department if you cannot get here quickly. Have someone else drive if you can, so you can watch your child, and call 0813 408 5400 on the way so the team can prepare. See the signs that mean go now.
